My Melbourne favorites

Bijgewerkt op: 30 jan. 2018

After living here for more than a year. (Wow, times goes so fast) It is time for my favourite things and places in Melbs.

1. Brunswick street (Fitzroy) there are so many great places in this street so I here are my favourite favourites:

  • Clear it (love love love this store. It is actually too much but don’t forget to go upstairs)

  • Zetta Florence because I love paper

  • Mario’s for a lovely Italian meal in an authentic environment

  • N2 for a great ice cream experience. They make it right in front of you using liquid nitrogen.

  • Naked for Satan because of the experience, views and some insiders told me the hippest and best cocktail makers of Melbourne work here! Don’t forget your credit card!Of course the street art everywhere

2. Moor street (Fitzroy from Nicholson street towards Smith street) with beautiful murals and Grub Food Van 3. Gertrude street with the beautiful magnolia’s and lovely little boutiques and shops 4. Smith street (Fitzroy) look for street art, it is everywhere

  • Hinoki for the best sushi ever!

  • Messina for the most special ice cream flavours ever!

  • Towards Victoria Parade, at the end of the street you’ll find a lot of outlet stores like a Converse one

5. Rose Street Saturday market for all sorts of thingies 6. Carlton Gardens 7. Melbourne Museum with impressive stories about the aboriginals in Australia 8. Lygon street (Carlton)

  • Brunetti in Carlton on Lygon street. Where I never know what to choose because everything is so amazingly delicious.

  • Readings on Lygon street, one of my favourite bookstores

  • The Gewursthaus on Lygon street for lovely spices. They even have speculaas kruiden!

  • Pidapipo for the creamiest ice cream. I know there is a line but conquer the line and get that lovely creamy ice cream!

9. Flinders street station and Federation square because it good to realize you’re in Melbourne surrounding yourself with these two iconic places! 10. Botanical Gardens 11. Queen Victoria Market my all-time favourite for grocery shopping, a stroll or just a touristic hang out: it’sgot it all! 12. St Kilda with her Luna Park, the penguins and all the tourists 13. Brighton beach with the iconic beach houses and a little less crowed then St Kilda for an afternoon at the beach 14. Melbourne zoo to see all the typical Australian animals without leaving the city 15. The boathouses at the Yarra river like the Fairfield Boathouse and the Studley park Boathouse where you can rent a boat and row all the way to the flying foxes who sleep during daytime in Yarra Bent Park 16. Go for a bite and special atmosphere to Lentils as Anything. You decide how much you pay for your meal. Their slogan is everyone deserves a place at the table. I love the Lentil as Anything at the Abbotsford Convent the most because of the atmosphere of the place. 17. Victoria street Richmond for the total Asian experience with hundreds of stores where I don’t know what most things are but I love it 18. Fitzory Gardens most beautiful in spring and autumn 19. Williams town for the scenic view and old school vibe at the esplanade 20. Our home in Fairfield Oh there is so much more; but I think these are just my favourites… Probably to be continued!
